For some helpful tips concerning the application process, including the application fee, please send an email to chemgrad@pop.uky.edu. Include "admission tips" in the subject line.

The steps in the application process...

  1. After you have filled out and sent the proper application form (domestic or international, as designated above), arrange to have the following material sent to us:

  2. Once ALL of your application materials have been received, review of your application will commence. We will not review an incomplete file, so please make sure that your references send their letters (check with them 1 to 2 weeks after your initial request to make sure that they have been sent).

  3. We encourage applicants to visit our department and meet with our faculty members and graduate students. This is a great opportunity for you to size up our program and take us for a "test drive". Funds are available to reimburse applicants for travel and meal expenses, provided they arrange the visit through our office. To set up a visit, contact our Graduate Studies office at the e-mail address below.

  4. Decisions are made on a rolling basis. We will notify you as soon as we make a decision. If you haven't heard from us after a reasonable time (approximately 3-4 weeks after all of your materials have arrived), please feel free to call us (1-800-944-CHEM) or email us to inquire about the status of your application.
