If you cannot print pdf forms, we can send the forms to you if you fill out this electronic form. An entirely online application form will be available shortly. If you have specific concerns about our program, the application process, or the status of your application you can email our Director of Graduate Admissions, Professor Folami Ladipo, at chemgrad@pop.uky.edu
OR give us a call at 1-800-944-CHEM.
And of course, please feel free to contact any of our faculty members directly if you have a question about their research program or interests!
The steps in the application process...
- After you have filled out and sent the proper application form (domestic or international, as designated above), arrange to have the following material sent to us:
- Your completed application form.
- The application fee of $40 US citizens and $55 for International applicants (including those currently residing in the US.). US funds only.
- Transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended. Have these sent directly from the institutions if possible.
- Recent GRE scores; a chemistry subject test is preferred, but not mandatory.
- TOEFL scores (International students only).
- 3 or 4 letters of recommendation from faculty members or job supervisors familiar with your teaching, learning and research abilities. Please arrange to have these sent directly from the references.
- Once ALL of your application materials have been received, review of your application will commence. We will not review an incomplete file, so please make sure that your references send their letters (check with them 1 to 2 weeks after your initial request to make sure that they have been sent).
- We encourage applicants to visit our department and meet with our faculty members and graduate students. This is a great opportunity for you to size up
our program and take us for a "test drive". Funds are available to reimburse applicants for travel and meal expenses, provided they arrange the visit through our office. To set up a visit, contact our Graduate Studies office at the e-mail address below.
- Decisions are made on a rolling basis. We will notify you as soon as we make a decision. If you haven't heard from us after a reasonable time (approximately 3-4 weeks after all of your materials have arrived), please feel free to call us (1-800-944-CHEM) or email us to inquire about the status of your application.
