Research in the Knecht Group focuses on the use of biological macromolecules to construct nanomaterials for specifically targeted applications. These applications include self-assembly, catalysis, bioremediation, drug delivery, and materials design. We use a wide variety of biological, chemical, and material synthetic strategies to design and engineer specific functionalities into our materials that can be exploited for the desired process. The ultimategoal of our research is to understand the relationship between the material and its function through structure-function analyses. Please follow the above links for more information.
